For this reason, one cannot be confident in citing his hadith as evidence, but only in using it for corroboration. That is why I included it here: it has a supporting narration in al-Bukhārī and others, whose documentation has preceded under nos. 921 and 922. This differs from another hadith of his which I had previously included under this number, because al-Haythamī mentioned that it had two chains, one of which was good. I followed him in this, since the source to which he attributed it—al-Ṭabarānī’s al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr—had not yet been printed. When it was printed, praise be to Allah, it became clear that both chains revolve around this Ibn Zubayrīq. I therefore transferred it to al-Ḍaʿīfah, since, to my knowledge, it has no supporting narration. It is no. 5725.
2146 — “Among his pilgrimage invocations, peace and blessings be upon him, was: ‘Here I am at Your service, O God of Truth.’”
It was recorded by al-Nasāʾī (2/18), Ibn Mājah (2/216), Ibn Khuzaymah (261/2), Ibn Ḥibbān (975), al-Ḥākim (1/450), al-Bayhaqī (5/45), Aḥmad (2/341, 352, and 476), and Abū Nuʿaym (9/42), through the chain of ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Abī Salamah, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Faḍl, from al-Aʿraj, from Abū Hurayrah, attributed to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
Al-Ḥākim said: “Authentic according to the criteria of the two shaykhs.” Al-Dhahabī concurred with him, and they are correct. As for al-Nasāʾī, he said: “I do not know of anyone besides ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz who transmitted it from ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Faḍl with a connected chain. Ismāʿīl ibn Umayyah narrated it from him in mursal form, omitting the Companion link.”
I say: This ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz is trustworthy and precise, and is relied upon in the two Ṣaḥīḥs. He is al-Mājishūn; thus, his additional detail is acceptable.
Al-Bayhaqī then narrated through the route of Maḥbūb ibn al-Ḥasan: Dāwūd narrated to us, from ʿIkrimah, from Ibn ʿAbbās, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, delivered a sermon at ʿArafāt. When he said, “Here I am at Your service, O Allah, here I am at Your service,” he added: “True goodness is the goodness of the Hereafter.”
