— as al-Mundhirī meant, for al-Haythamī’s wording is explicit on that point.
I add: This indicates that al-Athram was not the only one to narrate it. Allah knows best.
As for the report of Ibn ʿAbbās, Ḥakīm ibn Jubayr transmits it from him with a marfūʿ isnād (traced back to the Prophet). Ibn ʿAdī recorded it ⦗89/1⦘. Ḥakīm ibn Jubayr, however, is weak, as stated in al-Taqrīb.
Regarding the ḥadīth of ʿĀʾishah, al-Mundhirī (3/237) assigns it to al-Ḥākim with wording similar to the report of Ibn ʿAbbās, but after consulting the places where it should appear, I have not found it in al-Ḥākim’s al-Mustadrak.
I say: The ḥadīth clearly proves that it is unlawful for a wealthy neighbour to leave his neighbours hungry. He is obliged to supply them with what will stave off their hunger, and likewise to clothe them if they have no garments, and to meet other essential needs.
