Silsilat al-Ahadith al-SahihahNasir al-Din al-Albani

Bismillāh al-Raḥmān al-Raḥīm, and in Him alone I seek assistance.

Preface to the First Edition:

All praise is due to Allah; we praise Him, seek His help and His forgiveness, and we seek refuge in Allah from the evils within ourselves and from the consequences of our misdeeds. Whomever Allah guides, none can mislead, and whomever He allows to stray, none can guide. I testify that there is no deity worthy of worship but Allah alone, without partner, and I testify that Muhammad is His servant and messenger.

“O you who believe, fear Allah as He should be feared, and do not die except as Muslims.” (1)

“O mankind, fear your Lord who created you from a single soul, created from it its mate, and from the two of them spread many men and women. So fear Allah, in whose name you ask one another—and uphold the ties of kinship. Indeed, Allah is ever watching over you.” (2)

“O you who believe, fear Allah and speak words that are right; He will set your deeds aright and forgive you your sins. Whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger has truly attained a great triumph.” (3)

(1) Al Imran, 3:102. (2) Al-Nisa, 4:1. (3) Al-Ahzab, 33:70-71. This sermon is known to scholars as Khutbat al-Hajah (the Sermon of Need). It is prescribed before every address, whether a Friday sermon, Eid sermon, marriage sermon, lesson, or lecture. I have a separate treatise in which I compiled the hadiths narrated concerning it and their chains of transmission. It was published years ago in the journal Al-Tamaddun al-Islami, and I later issued it as an independent treatise. We therefore urge those who love his Sunnah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and who wish to revive it =
