Silsilat al-Ahadith al-SahihahNasir al-Din al-Albani

Ibn Ḥibbān recorded it (1419) through ʿAmrah bint ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, from ʿĀʾishah: “The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, entered upon her while a woman was treating her or performing a healing recitation over her, whereupon he said,” and he then cited it.

I say: Its chain of transmission is authentic. This hadith establishes the prescribed legitimacy of healing recitations using the Book of Allah Most High, as well as similar recitations authentically reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. This has preceded in hadith 178, from al-Shifāʾ, who said: “The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, entered upon us while I was with Ḥafṣah, and he said to me: ‘Will you not teach her the treatment for ant bites, just as you taught her writing?’” As for other healing recitations, they are not prescribed—especially those written with disjointed letters and obscure symbols that have no sound, apparent meaning. Many such varieties may be found in the book entitled Shams al-Maʿārif al-Kubrā and similar works.

1932 — “Whoever says, ‘There is no god worthy of worship except Allah,’ will one day be saved by it from whatever may have afflicted him before then.”

It was recorded by Abū Saʿīd ibn al-Aʿrābī in his Muʿjam (fol. 88/2), Ibn Ḥuyawayh in his Hadith (3/2/2), Ibn Tharthāl in his Sudāsiyyāt (227/2), Abū Nuʿaym in al-Ḥilyah (5/46), al-Khaṭīb in al-Mūḍiḥ (2/205), and al-Bayhaqī in al-Shuʿab (1/56, Indian edition), all through ʿAmr ibn Khālid al-Miṣrī: ʿĪsā ibn Yūnus informed us, from Sufyān, from Manṣūr, from Hilāl ibn Yisāf, from al-Agharr, from Abū Hurayrah, who attributed it to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, with this wording.

I say: This is an authentic chain of transmission. Its narrators are trustworthy narrators of the two Shaykhs, apart from ʿAmr ibn Khālid al-Miṣrī, who is trustworthy and one of al-Bukhārī’s shaykhs. It also has corroboration: Abū Saʿīd likewise recorded it (112/2): Ibrāhīm ibn Rāshid informed us; Dāwūd ibn Mihrān informed us; ʿĪsā ibn Yūnus informed us with it.
