“Indeed, Allah created people for Paradise, creating them for it while they were still in the loins of their fathers; and He created people for the Fire, creating them for it while they were still in the loins of their fathers.”
It was recorded by Muslim (8/54–55), Abū Dāwūd (4713), al-Nasāʾī in al-Janāʾiz, Ibn Mājah (82), and Aḥmad (6/41 and 208).
“Creation” here means determination.
1832 — “Five things are among the rights a Muslim has over another Muslim: returning the greeting, accepting an invitation, attending a funeral, visiting the sick, and invoking mercy for one who sneezes when he praises Allah.”
Ibn Mājah (1435) and Aḥmad (2/332) recorded it through Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr, from Abū Salamah, from Abū Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said it.
I say: This is a good chain of transmission. Its narrators are those of the two Shaykhs, except that they narrated from Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr only in corroboration. Al-Zuhrī also corroborated him, from Ibn al-Musayyib, from Abū Hurayrah, with similar wording. Muslim recorded it (7/3).
Muslim and Aḥmad (2/372 and 412) also recorded it through a third route from Abū Hurayrah, with the wording: “The rights a Muslim has over another Muslim are six...” He then mentioned them, except that he said, “When you meet him, greet him,” in place of “returning the greeting,” and added: “And if he seeks your advice, advise him.” It has previously appeared in abbreviated form through ʿUmar ibn Abū Salamah, from his father, from him, under no. 1800.
