As for the hadith of Abū Hurayrah, it was narrated by ʿIkrimah ibn Ibrāhīm al-Azdī, who said: Idrīs ibn Yazīd al-Awdī narrated to me from his father, from him. Al-Ṭabarānī recorded it in al-Muʿjam al-Awsaṭ (1105) and said: “No one narrated it from Idrīs except ʿIkrimah.”
I say: He is weak. As for the hadith of Abū Saʿīd, it was narrated by Ḥafṣ ibn Rāshid, who said: Fuḍayl ibn Marzūq informed us from ʿAṭiyyah, from him. Al-Ṭabarānī recorded it in al-Muʿjam al-Awsaṭ (8599) and said: “No one narrated it from Fuḍayl except Ḥafṣ ibn Rāshid.”
I say: Ibn Abī Ḥātim included his biography (1/2/172–173), but mentioned no narrator criticism or accreditation concerning him. As for the other Companions, al-Ṭabarānī narrated in al-Muʿjam al-Awsaṭ (2302 and 7025), through two routes from ʿUmayrah ibn Saʿd, who said: “I heard ʿAlī appeal to the people: ‘Whoever heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say it’—then thirteen men stood up and testified that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, had said it.” ʿUmayrah is reliable.
Then al-Ṭabarānī narrated therein (5301) from ʿAbdullāh ibn al-Ajlaḥ, from his father, from Abū Isḥāq, from ʿAmr ibn Dhī Murr, who said: “I heard ʿAlī ...” the hadith, except that he said: “... twelve.” He said: “No one narrated it from al-Ajlaḥ except his son ʿAbdullāh.”
