128 – “Allah, Blessed and Exalted, says: ‘A good deed is rewarded ten-fold, or even more; a misdeed counts only as one—or I may pardon it. And were you to meet Me with sins that nearly filled the earth, yet without associating anything with Me, I would meet you with forgiveness of equal extent.’
Al-Ḥākim (4/241) and Aḥmad (5/108) narrated it through ʿĀṣim, from al-Maʿrūr ibn Suwayd, who said that Abū Dharr – may Allah be pleased with him – related: “The Truthful and Trustworthy ﷺ told us, in what he conveys from his Lord, Blessed and Exalted: ‘A good deed …’”
Al-Ḥākim declared the chain “sound (ṣaḥīḥ),” and al-Dhahabī concurred.
I say: ʿĀṣim is Ibn Bahdala; his reports are ḥasan, and the rest of the narrators are reliable men found in the two Ṣaḥīḥs. Hence the isnād is ḥasan.
129 – “Successful indeed is the one who has accepted Islam, is given what suffices him, and whom Allah makes content with what He has granted.”
Muslim (3/102), al-Tirmidhī (2/56), Aḥmad (2/168), and al-Bayhaqī (4/196) transmitted it via ʿAbd Allāh ibn Yazīd al-Muqriʾ. He said: Saʿīd ibn Abī Ayyūb told us, from Sharḥabīl ibn Sharīk, from Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Ḥublī, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ, as a marfūʿ report.
Al-Tirmidhī commented: “A ḥadīth that is ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ.”
