and al-Dhahabī concurred.
al-Tirmidhī also cited from the report the Prophet’s words, “By Him in Whose hand is my soul …,” and remarked: “A good (ḥasan) ḥadith; we know it only through the narration of al-Qāsim ibn al-Faḍl, and he is trustworthy and reliable.”
123 – “You are not even one part in one hundred thousand of those from my community who will come to me at the Ḥawḍ (the Prophet’s Pond).”
It was narrated by Abū Dāwūd (5746), al-Ḥākim (1/76) — who declared it authentic — and Aḥmad (4/367, 369, 371, 372) through Shuʿbah, from ʿAmr ibn Murrah, who said: I heard Abū Ḥamzah relate that he heard Zayd ibn Arqam say:
“We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey. We halted at a stopping place, and I heard him say that.” He was asked, “How many were you that day?” He replied, “Seven hundred or eight hundred.”
I say: Its chain is sound; its narrators are the men of the two Shaykhs except for Abū Ḥamzah — whose name is Ṭalḥah ibn Yazīd al-Anṣārī. He is counted among al-Bukhārī’s narrators, and Ibn Ḥibbān and al-Nasāʾī graded him trustworthy.
124 – “On the Day of Resurrection the sun and the moon will be two bulls that are rolled into the Fire.”
It was recorded by Imām al-Ṭaḥāwī in Mushkil al-Āthār (1/66–67): “Muḥammad ibn Khuzaimah narrated to us; Muʿallā ibn Asad al-ʿAmī narrated to us; ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn al-Mukhtār narrated to us, from ʿAbd Allāh …”
