al-Ḍiyāʾ al-Maqdisī included the hadith in al-Mukhtārah (65/66/1) through this route of Aḥmad. He also recorded it through another chain (1/297), and al-Nasāʾī (1/261) and al-Bazzār (808) narrated it through other routes from ʿAṭāʾ with the same wording.
It has a supporting narration related by ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Muḥammad, from ʿAmr ibn Abī ʿAmr, from Saʿīd ibn Abī Saʿīd, from Abū Hurayrah, who attributed it to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: “The believer occupies with Allah a station of every good: he praises Me while I draw his soul from between his sides.” Aḥmad recorded it (2/361), as did al-Bazzār in his Musnad (no. 781). Al-Haythamī said: “Its chain is good.” And it is as he said. Aḥmad’s wording is: “Allah, Exalted is He, said: ‘Indeed, the believer is in My estimation in a station of ...’” In another narration of his (2/341): “Indeed, Allah, Exalted is He, says: ‘Indeed, My believing servant is in My estimation in a station of ...’”
1633 — “Indeed, Allah created illness and its remedy; so seek treatment, but do not seek treatment with what is forbidden.”
Al-Dūlābī narrated it (2/38) from ʿAlī ibn ʿAyyāsh, who said: Thaʿlabah ibn Muslim narrated to us, from Abū ʿImrān Sulaymān ibn ʿAbd Allāh, from Abū al-Dardāʾ, attributed to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
I say: This is how it appears in the original, but it seems that an omission has occurred in the chain, for Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAyyāsh stands between Thaʿlabah and ʿAlī ibn ʿAyyāsh, as stated in al-Tahdhīb.
