“This world is lush and sweet. Whoever acquires it rightfully, Allah will bless it for him; yet many a person who wrongfully meddles with the wealth of Allah and His Messenger will have the Fire on the day he meets Him.”
It was narrated by Ibn Abī ʿĀṣim, ʿAbd Allāh ibn Aḥmad in Ziyādāt al-Zuhd, and Ibn Mandah, as cited in al-Iṣābah; likewise by al-Ṭabarānī, as cited in Majmaʿ al-Zawāʾid (10/247), where it is stated: “Its chain of transmission is good.” A similar report, attributed to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is narrated from Abū Hurayrah. Abū Yaʿlā narrated it (4/1558) with an authentic chain of transmission, and al-Haythamī graded it good (10/246).
1593 — “Wine may be made from grapes, wine may be made from dates, wine may be made from honey, wine may be made from wheat, and wine may be made from barley.”
It was narrated by Abū Dāwūd (2/129, al-Tāziyyah edition), Aḥmad (4/267), and al-Bayhaqī (8/289), through Ibrāhīm ibn Muhājir, from al-Shaʿbī, from al-Nuʿmān ibn Bashīr, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said it.
I say: Its narrators are trustworthy and are narrators of Muslim, except that Ibrāhīm ibn Muhājir has some weakness, as al-Ḥāfiẓ said. He was corroborated by Abū Ḥurayz—whose name was ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Ḥusayn al-Azdī—from ʿĀmir, who reported it to him, except that he said: “Wine is made from juice, raisins, dates, wheat, barley, and millet; and I forbid you every intoxicant.” It was narrated by Abū Dāwūd, Ibn Ḥibbān (1396), and al-Bayhaqī. Abū Ḥurayz was truthful but made mistakes.
