1547 — “Light your fires and prepare food, for no people who come after you will match even your sa‘ or mudd.”
Al-Hakim related it (3/36) through Muhammad ibn Abi Yahya al-Aslami, who said: My father told me that Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, informed him that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was at al-Hudaybiyyah and said: “Do not light a fire at night.” Later, he said the words quoted above.
He said: “Its chain of transmission is authentic.” Al-Dhahabi concurred with him, and they were correct. Abu Yahya al-Aslami, whose name was Sim‘an, was trustworthy, as was his father.

Al-Tabarani related it (no. 13345) from Wahb ibn Yahya ibn Zimam al-‘Allaf: Maymun ibn Yazid narrated to us, from ‘Umar ibn Muhammad, from his father, from Ibn ‘Umar, who said: A man came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, lodging a complaint against his father. He said: “He has taken my money.” The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to him the words quoted above.
Al-Bazzar also related it in his Musnad (p. 138 of its Zawa’id; no. 1259 in Kashf al-Astar): Wahb ibn Yahya narrated to us; Maymun ibn Yazid narrated to us, through the same chain. He said: “We know of no report from Ibn ‘Umar attributed to the Prophet except through this chain of transmission.” This is how it appears in al-Zawa’id: “… ibn Yazid.” Al-Majma‘ followed it, for it says (4/154):
