“Al-Tabarani narrated it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, apart from Muhammad ibn Ziyad al-Burjumi, who is trustworthy.”

1544 — “O Allah, Lord of Gabriel and Michael, and Lord of Israfil, I seek refuge in You from the heat of the Fire and the punishment of the grave.”

Al-Nasa’i narrated it (2/320) through Abu Hassan, from Jusrah, from Aishah, who said that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said the above supplication.

I say: Its chain of transmission is weak. All its narrators are trustworthy except Jusrah—who is bint Dajajah—for there is weakness in her. However, her hadith has two corroborating reports:

The first is from Sulayman ibn Sinan al-Muzani, who heard Abu Hurayrah say: “I heard Abu al-Qasim, peace and blessings be upon him, say during his prayer: ‘O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the trial of the grave, the trial of the Dajjal, the trials of life and death, and the heat of Hell.’” Al-Nasa’i narrated it immediately after Aishah’s hadith and said: “This is what is correct.”

I say: Its chain of transmission is authentic. Its narrators are trustworthy and are narrators of Muslim, except for this al-Muzani, who is trustworthy, as al-Hafiz stated in al-Taqrib. There is no inconsistency between the two hadiths, since their routes differ; rather, each corroborates the other.

The second corroborating report is narrated by Abd al-Wahhab ibn Isa al-Wasiti: Yahya ibn Abi Zakariyya al-Ghassani narrated to us, from Abbad ibn Sa‘id, from Mubashshir ibn Abi Mulayh, from his father—from his grandfather, Usamah ibn Umayr, may Allah be pleased with him—that he performed the two rak‘ahs of Fajr, while the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, performed two brief rak‘ahs near him. Then I heard him saying while seated:
