In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
Author’s Introduction
Indeed, all praise is due to Allah. We praise Him, seek His help and forgiveness, and seek refuge in Allah from the evils within ourselves and from our evil deeds. Whomever Allah guides, none can lead astray; and whomever He leads astray, none can guide. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship but Allah alone, without partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.
To proceed: this is the fourth volume of my book, The Series of Authentic Hadiths and Some of Their Juristic Rulings and Benefits. Like its preceding volumes, it contains five hundred established hadiths. Today I present it to the noble readers, nearly five years after the preceding volume was printed in Syria. It was not possible for us to print this volume now before this time, and then only in Jordan, amid numerous printing-related difficulties surrounding it, the extent of which none knows but Allah, Exalted is He. There is no need to explain or set them out, for not everything that is known should be said. It suffices me to seek Allah’s reward for bearing them patiently, from Allah Most High, who alone is the believer’s refuge and shelter in every blessing or hardship that befalls him. For all of this is good for the patient Muslim, as stated in the Prophet’s saying—may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him—previously cited in this series as no. (147):
“How amazing is the affair of the believer! Indeed, all his affairs are good. If something he loves befalls him, he praises Allah, and that is good for him; and if something he dislikes befalls him, he is patient, and that is good for him. Not everyone has all his affairs turn out good; this is only for the believer.”
