However, the hadith has two other chains:
The first is through Ibrāhīm ibn Ṣirmah, from Yaḥyā ibn Saʿīd al-Anṣārī, from Muḥammad ibn Sulaymān ibn Abī Ḥathmah, with the same report.
Al-Ḥākim recorded it (3/434) and said:
“A singular hadith. Ibrāhīm ibn Ṣirmah does not meet the criteria of this book.”
Al-Dhahabī said in his Talkhīṣ:
“I say: al-Dāraquṭnī weakened him, while Abū Ḥātim said: ‘He is a shaykh.’”
The second is through an unidentified man from Basra, from Muḥammad ibn Salamah, who attributed it to the Prophet.
Aḥmad recorded it (4/226): “Wakīʿ narrated to us, from Thawr, from him.”
I say: Its narrators are trustworthy, apart from the unidentified man.
In sum, the hadith is strengthened by these chains. And Allah knows best.
