A man asked the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, about a matter concerning the prayer. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to him: “…” Then he recounted it.
I say: Its narrators have been declared trustworthy, except that this Salih—namely, Ibn Nabhan—became confused in his later years. However, they have stated that Ibn Abi Dhi'b and other early narrators reported from him before this confusion, and Musa ibn Uqbah predates Ibn Abi Dhi'b, as was established earlier under hadith 1306. There, I also cited a corroborating report for its first portion.
The remainder has another corroborating report from the hadith of Rifa'ah ibn Rafi', narrated by the compilers of the Sunan and others. It is documented in Sahih Abi Dawud.
1350 — “If you shoot game and find it after three nights with your arrow still in it, then eat it, so long as it has not spoiled.”
Abu Dawud narrated it (2861) through Hammad ibn Khalid al-Khayyat, from Mu'awiyah ibn Salih, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Jubayr ibn Nufayr, from his father, from Abu Tha'labah al-Khushani, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
I say: This is an authentic chain of transmission according to Muslim’s criteria. I also included it in my Sahih (6/59), through Ma'n ibn Isa, who said: Mu'awiyah related it to me with similar wording, but without the words: “with your arrow still in it.”
1351 — “When you embellish your mosques and adorn your copies of the Quran, then destruction is upon you.”
Ibn Abi Shaybah narrated it in al-Musannaf (1/100/2, al-Zahiriyyah manuscript): Abu Khalid al-Ahmar, from Muhammad ibn Ajlan, from Sa'id ibn Abi Sa'id, attributed to the Prophet.
I say: This is a good mursal chain of transmission. It has a corroborating report attributed to the Companion, narrated by Bakr ibn Sawadah from Abu al-Darda, who related it with some transposition in the wording.
