ibn al-Jahm—namely, Ibn Harun al-Katib al-Samari. Al-Khatib included his biography (2/161), citing reports from him through a group of trustworthy narrators, and said: “Al-Daraqutni said: ‘Trustworthy, truthful.’” Al-Hafiz said in al-Lisan: “I know of no criticism of him.”

Ibn Hibban (2647), Abu Nu‘aym in Sifat al-Jannah (2/141/1) and al-Akhbar (1/282), and al-Hakim (1/82) narrated it through Muhammad ibn Yusuf al-Firyabi: Sufyan al-Thawri narrated to us from Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir, from Jabir ibn ‘Abd Allah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said this. 1337 — “When you come, pray with the people, even if you have already prayed.”
Malik narrated it in al-Muwatta’ (1/132/8), and from him al-Nasa’i (1/137), Ibn Hibban (433), al-Hakim (1/244), and Ahmad (4/34)—all from Malik, from Zayd ibn Aslam, from a man of Banu al-Dayl called Busr ibn Mihjan, from his father Mihjan: “He was sitting in an assembly with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, when the call to prayer was given. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, rose and prayed, then returned, while Mihjan remained seated in the gathering and had not prayed with him. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to him:”
