I say: Its chain of transmission is authentic and meets the conditions of the two Shaykhs. Al-Bukhari and others have also recorded it with the wording: “No time will come upon you.” It will be cited later, Allah willing.
1219 — “When Allah Most High intends good for a household, He brings gentleness into it.”
An authentic hadith narrated by Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). I have assembled several routes of transmission from her:
The first: from Hisham ibn Urwah, from his father, from her. Ahmad (6/71), al-Bukhari in al-Tarikh al-Kabir (1/1/416), and al-Bayhaqi in al-Shuab (2/279/1) recorded it through two routes from him. This is an authentic chain of transmission that meets the conditions of the two Shaykhs.
The second: from Sharik ibn Abi Namir, from Ata ibn Yasar, from her: the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to her: “O Aisha, be gentle, for when Allah intends good for a household, He guides them to the door of gentleness.” Ahmad recorded it (6/104–105): Abu Said narrated to us: Sulayman—that is, Ibn Bilal—narrated to us, from Sharik.
I say: This is a sound chain of transmission, and it likewise meets the conditions of both of them. It is corroborated by the narration of Abdullah ibn Abd al-Rahman Abu Tawalah, from Ata ibn Yasar, with the same report; al-Bayhaqi recorded it.
The third: from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Bakr, from Ibn Abi Mulaykah, from her, attributed to the Prophet, with wording like that of the first route. Al-Daylami recorded it in Musnad al-Firdaws (1/1/96), through Abu al-Shaykh, with a suspended chain: “[a blank] narrated to us, from Baqiyyah, from Ibn al-Mubarak, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Bakr.” This is a weak chain of transmission. Sufficient has already been said about him.
