Tammām al-Rāzī recorded it in al-Fawāʾid (vol. 1, no. 31). Al-Mundhirī attributed it in al-Targhīb (2/107) to al-Bayhaqī.
I say: I have not found any biographical notice for either ʿUthmān or Sulaymān.
4 — As for the hadith of ʿUmar, ʿĀṣim ibn ʿUbayd Allāh narrates it from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿĀmir ibn Rabīʿah al-ʿAdawī, from his father, from him. It was recorded by Ibn Mājah (2/108, al-ʿIlmiyyah edition), Aḥmad (1/25), al-Ḥumaydī in his Musnad (17), al-Ṭabarī in al-Tafsīr (vol. 4, p. 223, no. 3958), al-Muḥāmilī in al-Amālī (vol. 4, no. 33), and Ibn ʿAsākir in Tārīkh Dimashq (8/323/2).
I say: ʿĀṣim ibn ʿUbayd Allāh is weak.
5 — As for the hadith of Jābir, it has three routes from him:
The first: Bishr ibn al-Mundhir narrated to us: Muḥammad ibn Muslim narrated to us, from ʿAmr ibn Dīnār, from him. Al-Bazzār recorded it (112) and said: “We know of no report from Jābir except through this chain of transmission.” This is what he said, but the other two routes escaped his notice. I have cited them in the place previously indicated. Al-Haythamī said of the hadith in al-Majmaʿ (3/277): “Al-Bazzār narrated it, and its narrators are narrators of the authentic collections, apart from Bishr ibn al-Mundhir, in whose narrations there is error, as al-ʿUqaylī stated; Ibn Ḥibbān, however, declared him reliable.”
I say: However, although Muḥammad ibn Muslim al-Ṭāʾifī is among Muslim’s narrators, al-Ḥāfiẓ said of him: “Truthful, but makes mistakes.”
6 — As for the hadith of ʿĀmir ibn Rabīʿah, ʿĀṣim ibn ʿUbayd Allāh narrates it from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿĀmir ibn Rabīʿah, from his father, as a Prophetic report to the same effect. In one narration, he added: “An accepted Hajj has no reward except Paradise.” Aḥmad recorded it (3/446 and 447).
