Nor did he stop at deceiving his readers in this manner; rather, he went further and lied against the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. He states (p. 13):
“The first to adopt a slab of earth upon which to prostrate was our Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, in the third year after the Hijrah, when the tremendous battle took place between the Muslims and Quraysh at Uhud, in which the greatest pillar of Islam—Hamzah ibn ‘Abd al-Muttalib, the paternal uncle of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him—was brought down. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, ordered the Muslim women to wail for him at every mourning gathering. Their honoring of him then expanded to the point that they began taking soil from his grave, seeking blessings through it and prostrating upon it to Allah Most High; they also made prayer beads from it, as mentioned in the book The Earth and the Husayni Soil. His Companions followed him in this, among them the jurist ...”
The book mentioned is one of the Shiite books. Reflect, dear reader, on how he lied against the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, claiming that he was the first to adopt a disc upon which to prostrate. Then, in support of his assertion, he produced nothing but another fabrication: namely, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, ordered the women to wail for Hamzah at every mourning gathering. Even if this were true, it would plainly have no connection to adopting such a disc. Yet it cannot be authentically attributed to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. How could it be, when it is authentically reported that, when he received the women’s pledge of allegiance, he took from them the pledge that they would not wail, as al-Bukhari and Muslim, as well as others, narrated from Umm ‘Atiyyah? (See our book Rulings on Funerals, p. 28.)
It appears to me that he based the two preceding fabrications upon a third one—his statement concerning the Prophet’s Companions: “Their honoring of him then expanded to the point that they began taking soil from his grave, seeking blessings through it and prostrating upon it to Allah Most High ...” This is a lie against the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them. Far be it from them to engage in such idolatry. As sufficient proof for the reader of this Shiite’s fabrication against the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and his Companions is the fact that he was unable to attribute it to any recognized source among the Muslims, apart from The Earth and the Husayni Soil—a book written by one of their later figures and by an obscure author among them. For some reason, the Shiite did not dare name him or disclose his identity, lest he expose himself by citing him as a source for his falsehoods!
Nor was this gentleman content with the foregoing lies against the earliest generations; he went further and lied against those who came after them. So listen to the remainder of his preceding statement:
