I say: It is not as the two of them said, for this al-Balisi has been accused of fabrication. Al-Dhahabi himself included him in al-Mizan and said: “Ibn ‘Adi said: He narrated rejected reports from trustworthy narrators.” Abu al-Fath al-Azdi said: “He used to fabricate hadith.” In al-Lisan, he added: “Al-Daraqutni said: He is weak.” Ibn Hibban mentioned him in al-Thiqat and said: “He used to make mistakes.” He has a fabricated hadith with an authentic chain. He then cited another hadith for him besides this one.
1164 — “The prayer of those who constantly turn to Allah is when the young camels’ hooves are scorched by the heat.”
Muslim (2/171), Ahmad (4/366, 367, 370, 375), and Ibn Khuzaymah (1127) narrated it from al-Qasim al-Shaybani: Zayd ibn Arqam saw some people performing the Duha prayer and said: “They surely know that prayer at a time other than this is better. Indeed, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said...” He then cited it. Abu ‘Awanah also narrated it (2/270 and 271).
The first part of it has a supporting report from Abu Hurayrah, attributed to the Prophet, in the hadith: “And that I should not abandon the two units of the Duha prayer, for they are the prayer of those who constantly turn to Allah.” Its chain contains an unknown narrator, as I explained in Sahih Abi Dawud (1286).
1165 — “Indeed, the people most severely tested are the prophets, then those nearest to them, then those nearest to them.”
Ibn Sa‘d (8/325 and 326) and al-Hakim (4/404) narrated it through Husayn ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman, who said: I heard Abu ‘Ubaydah ibn Hudhayfah narrating from his paternal aunt Fatimah, who said: I visited the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, along with some women. There was a suspended water-skin, whose water was dripping onto him because of the intense heat of the fever he was suffering. So we said: “O Messenger of Allah, if only you would supplicate Allah to remove this from you.” He said ... He then cited it.
I say: Al-Hakim and al-Dhahabi made no comment on it, but in my view its chain is authentic; its narrators are
