As for the other two reports, they do indeed contain Ibn Zayd—namely, Ibn Judʿān—who is weak. This is why I included them in the other book (1962/1963).
1074 — “Allah laughs at two men, one of whom kills the other, yet both enter Paradise: one fights in the way of Allah, exalted is He, and is martyred; then Allah accepts the killer’s repentance, and he embraces Islam, fights in the way of Allah, exalted is He, and is martyred.”
Malik (2/17) recorded it, and al-Bukhari (3/210), al-Nasaʾi (2/63), and al-Bayhaqi in The Names and Attributes (p. 467) all narrated it from Malik. Muslim (6/40)—whose wording is given here—and Ibn Khuzaymah in Oneness of God (p. 152) also narrated it through al-Aʿmash, from Abu Hurayrah, attributed to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Muslim and al-Bayhaqi also relate it from him through another chain, and it will come, if Allah wills, with the wording, “Indeed, Allah laughs,” under no. 2525.
1075 — “There will be twelve rulers after me, all of them from Quraysh.”
Al-Tirmidhi (2/35) and Ahmad (5/90, 92, 95, 99, and 108) recorded it through Sammak ibn Harb, who said: “I heard Jabir ibn Samurah,” and then mentioned it as a report attributed to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Al-Tirmidhi said: “This is a good, authentic hadith.” He was corroborated by Abd al-Malik ibn Umayr, who said: “I heard Jabir ibn Samurah” report it. Al-Bukhari (13/179) and Ahmad (5/93) recorded it through Shuʿbah from him.
It also has another chain with the wording: “There will be twelve caliphs after me, all of them from Quraysh.” Then he returned to his home, and Quraysh came to him and asked: “Then what will happen?” He replied: “Then there will be widespread killing.” Abu Dawud (2/207) and Ahmad (5/92) recorded it from Zuhayr: Ziyad ibn Khaythamah narrated to us: al-Aswad ibn Saʿid al-Hamdani narrated to us, from Jabir ibn Samurah. This is a good chain of transmission. Its narrators are trustworthy transmitters of Muslim, apart from this al-Aswad, who is truthful, as stated in al-Taqrib and al-Khulasah.
1076 — “Indeed, Allah created His creation in darkness and cast upon them some of
