prayer, fasting, sacrificial rites, or charity are?’ Ḥudhayfah turned away from him, and he put the question to him three times; each time Ḥudhayfah turned aside. Then, on the third occasion, he faced him and said, ‘O Ṣillah! It will save them from the Fire’—three times.

Al-Ḥākim said, ‘Authentic according to the criteria of Muslim,’ and al-Dhahabī agreed. I say: it is exactly as they affirmed. Al-Būṣīrī stated in al-Zawāʾid ⦗247/1⦘, ‘Its chain is sound and its narrators are trustworthy.’
