“Upon every limb of the children of Adam there is a charity.” Its chain of transmission is authentic, and it has preceded under no. 574. There are many other hadiths on this subject, which have preceded under nos. 575–577.
- “Whoever has two sisters or two daughters, and treats them well as long as they remain with him, he and I will be in Paradise like these two.” And he joined his two fingers together.
Al-Khaṭīb recorded it in his History (8/284–285), through al-Aʿmash, from Anas, attributed to the Prophet. Its narrators are trustworthy, except that it is interrupted, because al-Aʿmash’s hearing from the Companions has not been established, as stated in al-Taqrīb. However, the hadith is authentic, for it has other connected routes from Anas, some of which are found in Muslim and have already been referenced under nos. 295–297. It is also supported by the following hadith:
“Whoever has three daughters, gives them shelter, provides for them, and treats them compassionately, Paradise has most certainly become obligatory for him.” A man from among the people said, “And two, O Messenger of Allah?” He replied, “And two.”
- “Whoever has three daughters, gives them shelter, provides for them, and treats them compassionately, Paradise has most certainly become obligatory for him.” A man from among the people said, “And two, O Messenger of Allah?” He replied, “And two.”
Al-Bukhārī recorded it in al-Adab al-Mufrad (p. 14), as did Aḥmad (3/303), through ʿAlī ibn Zayd, who said: Muḥammad ibn al-Munkadir told me that Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh narrated to them, saying: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him, said—and he mentioned it. This is a good chain for corroborative reports. Its narrators are trustworthy and are among the narrators of the two Shaykhs, except for ʿAlī ibn Zayd—namely Ibn Judʿān—who is weak on account of his memory.
However, Sufyān ibn Ḥusayn corroborated him from Muḥammad ibn al-Munkadir, adding: “Until we thought that, had someone said, ‘And one?’ he would have said, ‘And one.’” Abū Yaʿlā recorded it (2/591), and its chain is authentic according to the conditions of Muslim. He also cited the hadith in al-Targhīb (3/84–85) and said:
