Al-Mizzi mentioned it in his Tuhfah (8/232/10962), solely through al-Nasa'i, and commented:
“Ma'mar also corroborated him, from Ayyub, from Ibn Sirin.”
This plainly indicates that he meant Ayyub corroborated Asim in his connected narration from Ibn Sirin, from Abu al-Darda. Keep this in mind for what follows.
Then al-Mizzi referred to Hisham’s connected narration from Ibn Sirin, from Abu Hurayrah, and said:
“It was also narrated from Hisham, from Ibn Sirin, from some of the Companions of the Prophet.”
He also said:
“It was narrated from Ayyub, Ibn Awn, and Yunus ibn Ubayd, from Muhammad ibn Sirin, that the Prophet said to Abu al-Darda.”
I say: That is, they narrated it as mursal, without mentioning Abu Hurayrah. This narration of Ayyub is transmitted from him only by Ma'mar; Abd al-Razzaq transmitted it from Ma'mar in al-Musannaf (4/279/7803), and al-Tabarani transmitted it from him in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir (6/267–268). It comes through Ishaq ibn Ibrahim al-Dabari from Abd al-Razzaq, and it is subject to well-known criticism, since al-Dabari heard from Abd al-Razzaq when he was seven years old. Moreover, it conflicts with Ma'mar’s first narration from Ayyub, which corroborates Asim’s connected narration from Ibn Sirin, as previously cited from al-Mizzi. So bear this in mind.
As for Ibn Awn’s narration, it is the one previously cited there, under the hadith: Ibn Sa'd transmitted it with an authentic chain from Ibn Sirin as a mursal report, and it includes the circumstances of the hadith.
As for the narration of Yunus ibn Ubayd, I have not found anyone who transmitted it with a connected chain (1), and the same applies to Ma'mar’s first narration.
