“Its narrators are narrators of the Sahih, apart from Ahmad ibn Hatim, who is trustworthy. Al-Tabarani also narrated it from Mu‘awiyah with this wording, and its narrators are narrators of the Sahih apart from al-Nu‘man ibn Murrah, who is trustworthy.”
I say: It is found in al-Mu‘jam al-Saghir (pp. 241–244), within a lengthy hadith from Wa’il ibn Hujr, who said to Mu‘awiyah: “So what do you make of the saying of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace)?” He then mentioned it.
