First: Muʿayqib reported that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “The Fire has been forbidden to the gentle, mild, easy-going, and approachable person.”
It was transmitted by al-Kharāʾiṭī (23) and by al-Ṭabarānī in The Major Dictionary and The Middle Dictionary, through Shaybān ibn Farrūkh: Abū Umayyah ibn Yaʿlā al-Thaqafī narrated to us from Muḥammad ibn Muʿayqib, from his father.
I say: This Abū Umayyah is weak, as al-Haythamī stated.
Second: Abū Hurayrah reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said: “The Fire is forbidden to every gentle, mild, easy-going, and approachable person.” Al-Ṭabarānī transmitted it in The Middle Dictionary, and al-ʿUqaylī in The Weak Narrators (p. 444), through Jumhūr ibn Manṣūr al-Qurashī, who said: Wahb ibn Ḥakīm al-Azdī narrated to us from Muḥammad ibn Sīrīn, from him. Al-Ṭabarānī said: “No one narrated it from Ibn Sīrīn except Wahb, and Jumhūr alone narrated it from him.”
I say: I found no biographical entry for him, apart from what al-ʿUqaylī said following the hadith: “Al-Ḥaḍramī told us: I asked Ibn Numayr about Jumhūr, and he replied: ‘Transmit from him.’” As for Wahb ibn Ḥakīm, al-ʿUqaylī said: “He is unknown as a transmitter, and his hadith is not corroborated”—meaning this hadith. He also said: “It is reported through another route, with an acceptable chain of transmission.”
