“O Abū Dharr, the mosque has a greeting, and its greeting is two units of prayer ....” This is a very lengthy hadith, containing many questions from Abū Dharr and the Prophet’s answers to them. Ibn Ḥibbān related it (94), as did Abū Nuʿaym in al-Ḥilya (1/166–168). However, its chain of transmission is extremely weak, for this Ibrāhīm is abandoned.
Part of the hadith has another supporting narration, worded: “O Abū al-Dardāʾ, be a good neighbour to those who live beside you, and you will be a believer; love for people what you love for yourself, and you will be a Muslim; and be content with what Allah has apportioned for you, and you will be among the wealthiest of people.”
Al-Kharāʾiṭī related it (p. 41) from ʿAbd al-Munʿim ibn Bashīr, who said: Abū Mawdūd ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Abī Sulaymān al-Hudhalī related to us from Muḥammad ibn Kaʿb al-Quraẓī, from Abū al-Dardāʾ, attributing it to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, with this wording.
This chain is weak because of ʿAbd al-Munʿim; indeed, Ibn Maʿīn accused him of lying. The rest of its narrators are trustworthy.
In sum, with these routes the hadith is good, at the very least. Perhaps for this reason al-Dāraquṭnī said, as cited in Takhrīj al-Iḥyāʾ (2/160): “The hadith is established.” And Allah knows best.
931 — “Shall I not tell you about the people of Paradise? They are the oppressed and weak. And the people of the Fire are every harsh, coarse, arrogant person.”
Al-Ḥākim related it (1/61) through Zayd ibn al-Ḥubāb, and (3/619) through ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ṣāliḥ. Both said: Mūsā ibn ʿAlī ibn Rabāḥ related to me from his father, from Surāqah ibn Mālik, attributing it to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. This is the wording of the former; ʿAbd Allāh’s wording is:
