“The heaven has creaked, and it has every right to creak …”—the hadith, with similar wording.
Abu Nu'aym narrated it in al-Hilyah (6/269) through Zaidah ibn Abi al-Ruqad: Ziyad al-Numayri related to us from Anas. This is a weak chain of transmission.
853 — “Do you know the first company from my ummah to enter Paradise?” I said, “Allah and His Messenger know best.” He said:
“The emigrants will come on the Day of Resurrection to the gate of Paradise and ask for it to be opened. Its keepers will ask them, ‘Have you already been called to account?’ They will reply, ‘For what are we to be called to account? Our swords remained upon our shoulders in the path of Allah until we died in that state.’” He said, “Then it will be opened for them, and they will rest there for forty years before the people enter it.”
Al-Hakim narrated it (2/70) through Ayyash ibn Abbas, from Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Hubuli, from Abdullah ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said it. He then mentioned it.
He said: “Authentic according to the criteria of the two Shaykhs,” and al-Dhahabi agreed with him.
I say: It meets only Muslim’s criteria, for al-Bukhari narrated from this Ayyash only in his treatise on recitation.
854 — “If you wish to soften your heart, then feed the poor person and stroke the orphan’s head.”
Ahmad narrated it (2/263): Abu Kamil related to us; Hammad related to us, from Abu عمران al-Jawni, from a man, from Abu Hurayrah: “A man complained to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, of the hardness of his heart, and he said to him…” He then mentioned it.
Sulayman ibn Harb also followed him: Hammad ibn Salamah related it to us in the same manner.
