Ibn Abi Muslim. A number of trustworthy narrators related from him, apart from this son of his, Muhammad; and Ibn Hibban included him among the trustworthy narrators. He was corroborated by Abd al-Hamid ibn Bahram, who said: Shahr narrated to me, saying: I heard Asma bint Yazid al-Ansariyyah relate that “the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) passed through the mosque one day …” The hadith is similar in wording. It was recorded by Ahmad (6/452–453, 453, 457–458) and al-Bukhari (1047). Abu Dawud (5204) recorded from it only the account of the greeting; likewise, it was recorded by al-Tirmidhi (2/117), al-Darimi (2/277), and Ibn Majah (7701). Al-Tirmidhi said: “This is a good hadith. Ahmad ibn Hanbal said: ‘There is no objection to the hadiths of Abd al-Hamid ibn Bahram from Shahr ibn Hawshab …’” It also has a corroborating report, in both of their collections, from the hadith of Jarir ibn Abd Allah. Al-Baghawi recorded it in Sharh al-Sunnah (3/392, Maktab edition).
824 — “Abu Bakr and Umar are the leaders of the mature men among the people of Paradise, from the first and the last.”
It has been reported from a group of the Companions, including Ali ibn Abi Talib, Anas ibn Malik, Abu Juhayfah, Jabir ibn Abd Allah, and Abu Said al-Khudri.
- As for the hadith of Ali, it has several routes from him. The first is from al-Harith, from him, with the addition: “Do not tell them, O Ali.” It was recorded by al-Tirmidhi (4/310), Ibn Majah (1/49), Ibn Adi (214/2), and al-Khatib
