I say: In this wording, it is anomalous—or rejected—in my view, because it differs from the narration of the group from Ibn Abī Fudayk in the previously cited wording, which mentioned ʿUmar together with Abū Bakr, unlike this one. I have not found its chain of transmission to al-Muṭṭalib, so that we might examine whether it is anomalous or rejected.
As for the hadith cited by al-Ḥilyah, I have not seen it in the index of al-Ḥilyah. However, al-Manāwī mentioned that its chain of transmission includes al-Walīd ibn al-Faḍl. Al-Dhahabī said in al-Mīzān: “Ibn Ḥibbān said: ‘He narrates fabricated reports.’” He then cited a hadith of his and said that it was false. In al-Lisān, it states: “Al-Ḥākim, Abū Nuʿaym, and Abū Saʿīd al-Naqqāsh said: ‘He narrated fabricated reports from the Kūfans.’”
