“and that Fatimah is the leader of the women of Paradise.” Al-Tirmidhī said: “It is good and singular; we know it only through Isrāʾīl’s narration.”
I say: This is an authentic chain of transmission. Its narrators are trustworthy and are narrators of the Ṣaḥīḥ collections, apart from Maysarah—namely, Ibn Ḥabīb—who is trustworthy. Al-Ḥākim declared this addition authentic (3/151), and al-Dhahabī agreed with him.
The second: Aḥmad (5/392) said: Aswad ibn ʿĀmir narrated to us: Isrāʾīl narrated to us, from Ibn Abī al-Safar, from al-Shaʿbī, from him. He then mentioned it in a similar manner, but without the addition. He added: “Then Ḥudhayfah said, ‘Ask forgiveness for me and my mother.’ He replied, ‘May Allah forgive you, Ḥudhayfah, and your mother.’”
I say: This is an authentic chain according to Muslim’s criteria. Ibn Abī al-Safar’s name was ʿAbd Allāh. Ibn ʿAsākir also recorded it through Aḥmad’s route.
The third: From al-Musayyab ibn Wāḍiḥ: ʿAṭāʾ ibn Muslim al-Khaffāf, Abū Muḥammad al-Ḥalabī, informed us, from Abū ʿAmr al-Ashjaʿī, from Sālim ibn Abī al-Jaʿd, from Qays ibn Abī Ḥāzim, from him, with similar wording. He added: “ʿAṭāʾ said: We were told that he said, ‘Their father is better than they are.’”
Al-Ṭabarānī and Ibn ʿAsākir recorded it. This chain is acceptable as corroborating and supporting evidence. Al-Musayyab ibn Wāḍiḥ had poor retention, as did his teacher al-Khaffāf. However, I have not found anyone who wrote a biographical notice for Abū ʿAmr al-Ashjaʿī. Al-Ṭabarānī also narrated it through his route in al-Awsaṭ, as stated in al-Majmaʿ (9/183), where he said: “I did not recognize him.” He also recorded it in al-Kabīr (1/123/1) through another route from ʿAṭāʾ.
3—As for the hadith of ʿAlī, it has three chains from him:
