and al-Daylamī (1/1/48–49) and al-Ḥākim (4/215), through Wuhayb, from Abū Wāqid al-Laythī, who said: I heard Abū Salamah ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān narrating from ʿĀʾishah, who attributed it to the Prophet. Al-Ḥākim said: “Authentic according to the conditions of the two Shaykhs.” Al-Dhahabī agreed with him, and it is as they said.
- “The Arab tribe quickest to perish will be Quraysh. Soon, a woman will pass by a sandal and say: ‘This is a Qurashī sandal.’”
Aḥmad (2/336) narrated it: ʿUmar ibn Saʿd narrated to us; Yaḥyā—that is, Ibn Zakariyyā ibn Abī Zāʾidah—narrated to us, from Saʿd ibn Ṭāriq, from Abū Ḥāzim, from Abū Hurayrah, who attributed it to the Prophet.
This is an authentic chain of transmission meeting Muslim’s conditions. In al-Majmaʿ (10/28), it states: “Aḥmad, Abū Yaʿlā, al-Bazzār—who narrated part of it—and al-Ṭabarānī in al-Awsaṭ narrated it. He used the feminine form of ‘this’ instead of the masculine, and the narrators of Aḥmad and Abū Yaʿlā are narrators of the Ṣaḥīḥ collections.”
The hadith has a corroborating report narrated from ʿĀʾishah with the wording: “O ʿĀʾishah, your people will be the quickest of my ummah to join me.” It will come, Allah willing, under no. 1953.
- “Those of your servants who suit you, feed them from what you eat and clothe them from what you wear. As for those of your servants who do not suit you, sell them, and do not torment Allah’s creatures.”
