“The orphan girl is to be consulted concerning herself. If she remains silent, she has given her consent; but if she refuses, she is not to be compelled.” He said: “It was narrated by Aḥmad, Abū Yaʿlā, and al-Ṭabarānī, and the narrators in Aḥmad’s chain are the narrators of the Ṣaḥīḥ.”
I say: It is found in al-Musnad (4/394/408), as well as in Sunan al-Dārimī (2/138), through two chains from Abū Burdah ibn Abū Mūsā, from Abū Mūsā, with the same wording.
I say: This is an authentic chain meeting the criteria of both of them. It also has supporting narrations documented in al-Irwāʾ (1828).
657 — “Whoever diligently observes these prescribed prayers will not be recorded among the heedless; and whoever recites one hundred verses in a single night will be recorded among the devoutly obedient.”
Al-Ḥākim transmitted it (1/308) through the route of ʿAbdān: Abū Ḥamzah informed us, from al-Aʿmash, from Abū Ṣāliḥ, from Abū Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said it. Al-Ḥākim said: “Authentic according to the criteria of al-Bukhārī and Muslim.” Al-Dhahabī agreed with him, and it is as they said.
658 — “If you did not commit sins, I would fear for you something more serious than that: self-admiration.”
Al-ʿUqaylī transmitted it (171), as did Ibn ʿAdī (164/1).
