Al-Arbaʿūn al-TaymiyyaIbn Taimiya

The ḥajj-performing ḥadith authority, Abū Muḥammad Abū Bakr ibn Muḥammad ibn Abī Bakr ibn ʿAbd al-Wāsiʿ al-Harawī, related to us in Rabīʿ al-Awwal of the year 668 AH; and those just mentioned conveyed—through their chain back to al-Anṣārī—that he said:

Humayd narrated to me from Anas, who said:

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Support your brother whether he is the wrong-doer or the one wronged.”

I said, “O Messenger of Allah, I will support him when he is wronged, but how do I support him when he is the wrong-doer?”

He replied, “Prevent him from committing injustice; that is your support for him.”
