And we were likewise informed—through a short, elevated chain—by Aḥmad ibn ʿAbd al-Dāʾim, the text having been read aloud to him; Abū al-Faraj ibn Kulaib informed us; Abū al-Qāsim ibn Bayān informed us; Abū al-Ḥasan ibn Makhlad informed us; al-Ṣaffār informed us, and he related the same report.
