We were informed by Imām Taqī al-Dīn Abū Muḥammad Ismāʿīl ibn Ibrāhīm ibn Abī al-Yasar al-Tanūkhī; the report was read aloud to him while I listened, in the year —.
He in turn informed us—Abū Ṭāhir Barakāt ibn Ibrāhīm al-Khushūʿī; it was read to him.
He was informed by Abū Muḥammad ʿAbd al-Karīm ibn Ḥamzah ibn al-Khiḍr al-Sulamī.
He was informed by Abū al-Ḥusayn Ṭāhir ibn Aḥmad ibn ʿAlī ibn Maḥmūd al-Maḥmūdī of ʿĀna.
He was informed by Abū al-Faḍl Manṣūr ibn Naṣr ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥīm ibn Bint al-Kāghidī.
Abū ʿAmr al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī ibn al-Ḥasan al-ʿAṭṭār narrated to us.
He was narrated to by Ibrāhīm ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿUmar ibn Bukayr ibn al-Ḥārith al-Qaysī.
He was narrated to by Wakīʿ ibn al-Jarrāḥ ibn Malīḥ al-Ruʾāsī,
from al-Aʿmash, from Abū Ṣāliḥ, from Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī, who said:

The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:

“On the Day of Resurrection Noah will be summoned, and it will be said to him, ‘Did you convey the message?’ He will reply, ‘Yes.’ His people will then be called and asked, ‘Was the message conveyed to you?’ They will answer, ‘No warner came to us—no one at all!’ It will then be said to Noah, ‘Who will testify on your behalf?’ He will say, ‘Muhammad and his community.’ That is the meaning of His words: ‘Thus We have made you a middle…’ (Q 2:143).”
