Sharaf al-Din Abū ʿAbd Allāh Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Munʿim ibn ʿUmar ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ghudayr ibn al-Qawwās al-Ṭāʾī related to us—this report was read to him while I was present in 675 AH—and Abū al-Ḥasan ibn al-Bukhārī likewise. They said:
Abū al-ʿAbbās al-Khiḍr ibn Kāmil ibn Sālim al-Sarūjī related to us (it was read to him); Abū ʿAbd Allāh al-Ḥusayn ibn ʿAlī ibn Aḥmad al-Muqrī also related to us; and al-Fakhr al-Bukhārī said: Abū al-Yaman al-Kindī likewise related to us. Abū al-Qāsim Ismāʿīl ibn Aḥmad ibn ʿUmar al-Samarqandī further related to us. They both said:
Abū al-Ḥusayn Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Naqqūr narrated to us; Abū al-Ḥusayn Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Ḥusayn ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Hārūn, the nephew of Maymī the weaver, narrated to us; ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us; Dāwūd narrated to us; al-Walīd ibn Muslim narrated to us from Abū Ghassān Muḥammad ibn Muṭarrif, from Zayd ibn Aslam, from ʿAlī ibn al-Ḥusayn, from Saʿīd ibn Marjāna, from Abū Hurayrah, who traced it back to the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace). He said:
“Whoever sets a slave free, Allah—Mighty and Majestic—will free, for every limb of that slave, a corresponding limb of his from the Fire, even his private parts for the slave’s private parts.”
