82 – Abū al-Ḥasan al-Bāhilī related to me, from ʿĀrim ibn al-Faḍl, who said: I asked Zuhayr al-Bābī, “How are you this morning, Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān?” He replied, ⦗77⦘ “Since you last saw me I have been on the road to the Hereafter, turning away from this world—its hardships and its comforts alike.” Abū al-Ḥasan went on, “He was afflicted with a hernia and labored breathing, and he had lost his sight.” Then Zuhayr said, “Such is this world; let it do with us whatever it wishes.”
