74 – Abū ʿAbd Allāh Aḥmad ibn Bujayr narrated to me. He said: “I heard Abū Zakariyyā, one of our elders, relate from a certain devotee that in his supplication he would say:
‘My Lord, You are the One who meets my offences with Your beneficence and my disgraces with Your covering. I have only been able to disobey You through the very favour You have granted me, and nothing has emboldened me against You except Your bounty and generosity. How many a burden, ⦗73⦘ heavy and stifling, have You opened up and lifted from me, replacing its constriction with spaciousness and that spaciousness with serenity.’
