69 – It was related to me from al-Fadl ibn Yaʿqūb, who said: al-Firyābī told me:
When Abū Jaʿfar arrested Ismāʿīl ibn Umayyah, he ordered that he be taken to prison. On the way he passed a wall on which was written: “O my Protector in the blessing You have granted me, O my Companion in my solitude, O my Support in my tribulation.” He went on repeating that supplication until he was released. Later he walked past the same spot, looked, and found no writing there at all.
