Al-Faraj ba'd al-ShiddaIbn Abi al-Dunya

66 – Hārūn ibn Sufyān narrated to me; he said: ʿUbayd Allah ibn Muḥammad al-Qurashī narrated to me, from Nuʿaym ibn Muwarriʿ, from Juwaybir, from al-Ḍaḥḥāk, who said:

“The supplication of Moses, peace be upon him, when he set out toward Pharaoh; the supplication of the Messenger ⦗68⦘ of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, on the Day of Ḥunayn; indeed, the supplication of every distressed person is:

‘You have always been—and You will always be. You are the Living One who never dies. Eyes fall asleep and the stars grow dim, yet You are the Ever-Living, the Sustainer; neither drowsiness nor sleep overtakes You. O Ever-Living, O Sustainer!’”
