50 – Abu Ḥafṣ al-Ṣaffār Aḥmad ibn Ḥumayd narrated to us; Jaʿfar ibn Sulaymān reported to us; al-Khalīl ibn Murrah told me, from the jurist of the people of Jordan, who said:
“It has reached us that whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was overtaken by worry, grief, or distress, he would say:
‘Sufficient for me is the Lord in place of His servants;
Sufficient for me is the Creator in place of the created;
Sufficient for me is the Provider in place of those provided for;
Sufficient for me is He who is indeed sufficient for me;
Allah is sufficient for me, and He is the best disposer of affairs;
Allah is sufficient for me—there is no deity except Him. In Him I place my trust, and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne.’”
