41 – Azhar ibn Marwān al-Raqāshī told me; he said: Qazaʿah ibn Suwayd narrated, from Abū Saʿīd, the muezzin of Taʾif, that Gabriel came to Joseph (peace be upon him) and said, “O Joseph, has the prison become burdensome for you?” He answered, “Yes.” Gabriel said, “Then say:
‘O Allah, from every matter of my worldly life and my Hereafter that troubles or distresses me, grant me relief and a way out; provide for me from where I could never expect; forgive me ⦗53⦘ my sins; make my hope in You firm within my heart, and cut it off from all others, so that I place my hope in no one but You.’”
