10 – ʾIsḥāq ibn ʾIsmāʿīl narrated to us; Sufyān narrated, from Misʿar, ⦗33⦘ from ʿAlī ibn Badīmah, from Abū ʿUbaydah, who said:
A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, “The clan of so-and-so raided us and made off with my camels and my son.”
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, “The family of Muḥammad numbers such-and-such households, yet not one of them owns even a mudd of food, nor a saʿ of food. So ask Allah.”
The man returned to his wife, and she asked, “What did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ tell you?” When he informed her she said, “How excellent the answer he gave you!”
It was not long before Allah restored his camels and his son to him, in better condition than before. He went to the Prophet ﷺ and told him. The Prophet ﷺ then ascended the pulpit, praised and extolled Allah, and urged the people to petition Allah ﷿ and to turn to Him with eager hope. He recited to them: “Whoever is mindful of Allah, He will grant him a way out, and will provide for him from where he never imagined” (al-Ṭalāq 65:3).
