- Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn Abi Hatim narrated to me; he said: Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us; he said: Sufyan ibn Husayn informed us, from al-Hasan, who said:
"Ibn ‘Umar, whenever he took lunch or dinner, would invite the nearby orphans to join him. One day he had already had his lunch and sent for an orphan but could not find him. He kept a sweetened suwayqa (a drink made from roasted flour) that he would drink after eating. The orphan arrived after they had finished the meal, while the suwayqa was still in Ibn ‘Umar’s hand about to be drunk. Ibn ‘Umar handed it to him and said, ‘Take it; I do not think you have missed out.’"
