47 – Hārūn ibn ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us; he said: Sayyār narrated to us; he said: Jaʿfar narrated to us; he said: I heard Mālik ibn Dīnār say, “Who, exactly, is it that sits in this gathering of yours? By Allah, I have not taken from it so much as a single unripe date, nor a moist ripe one, nor even a dried date. So what have I lost thereby, and what increase have you gained?”
