42 – Khalid said: Mu‘alla al-Warraq narrated to us, saying: Abu ‘Ubaydah al-Khawwās said, “Your doom is in being full, and your share is in hunger. When you eat to satiety and then fall asleep, the enemy gains the upper hand over you and pins you down; but when you keep yourself hungry, you are lying in wait for the enemy.”
