- Muhammad ibn Ahmad al-Qurashi narrated to me, from Muhammad ibn Ziyad, from Zabbān al-Kulaybi, from his father, who said: ⦗49⦘ When Musʿab ibn al-Zubayr killed al-Mukhtār, ʿAmr ibn Ḥurayth prepared a meal for him. Musʿab and his companions ate, after which he brought out a falūdhaja (a thick sweet pudding) in a wobbling dish. Musʿab then said to his companions, “Come and eat. By Allah, the religion was never dependent on a she-camel—and it never will be. Our sword-blows were only for what you now see, and for what is on the pack-animals.”
