243 – My father related to me; he said: Sulayman ibn Idris al-Muqriʾ narrated to us: al-Hasan ibn Hayy once craved some fish. When it was brought to him, he placed his hand on the fish’s belly and his hand began to tremble. He therefore ordered that it be removed and did not eat any of it. When he was asked about this, he answered, “When I touched its belly I remembered that the first part of a human being to decay is his stomach, and so I could not bring myself to taste it.”
