204 – Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥusayn said: ʿAmmār ibn ʿUthmān al-Ḥalabī narrated to us; he said: Muḥammad ibn Thābit al-ʿAbdī narrated to us, from Abū ʿImrān al-Jawnī:
A man once presented ʿĀʾishah with jawārish —a digestive compound—from Iraq. When it was placed before her she asked, “What is this?” They replied, “Something made in Iraq that helps the food to digest.” She thereupon wept and said, “By Allah, I have not eaten to satiety since my Beloved—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—passed away.”
